Just back from Norwood, NY, only an hours drive for me
Beautiful weekend but we got blown out fri-sat & sun.
SW winds, not that stiff, but as there is a one mile fetch , it gets lumpy. The Keegans and a few others got some testing in during the evening when it got calm.
Gerald/Joe Pemberton, thru their shop and 'Parts Plus', put up $1000 for a CSR marathon
Only six entered, Runne won, coming from behind, Ronny Waterson was 3rd,
A LeMans beach type start, straight out to turn 2, then ten[?] laps with one mandatory fuel stop.
Two man pit crew, with Kevlars for safety.
Important to come in and get out ahead of other boats, for clear water
Most shared their winnings with pit crew, so Spencer Utman was pleased with his $20 share of a 4th place finish.
So lots of fun, but frustrating for those not in the water. Some very disappointed J drivers, one little one in the Halsey camp I noticed not happy, and hard to explain to them why we were not running.
Good turnout, particularly from Reg 1, lots of Cs, in fact there would have been elims in CSH
Poor luck for the FLRC
So now on to Waterford

Too bad, I was wondering how it went, It was super windy down here. Couldn't keep the BBQ running and law chairs were blown down the yard at a dinner at Graham's house. We didn't even try to set the ez-up up... haha. Hot though!
Thanks for the update!

Actually the 'blow-out' was not all that depressing, as it was good camping, lots of bench racing + socialising, as for many this was the 1st race of the season..[and it only rained at nite] We did get to grumbling some on SAT, PM, after the CSRs ran, ie: "....they could run us big boats, the D's[7] and FE's(3)..." so Dean Neuman sent Billy Allen out for a test lap, and as we all saw him back right out of it, as he bounced off the top of a roller on the back straight, were content to resume bench racing. A pair ['de Twins'] of OMC 44" Dmods showed up, and one appeared quick in testing. So other than those that drove a long way, not a totally lost weekend

Canadians..?? I am not the best one to ask to recall all that but it appeared to be; -the Abbotts and every one from the '613', save for that #69 guy and 'DO' [we decided they could stay]; - and from west of here the Keegans, Halseys, Websters, Mike O, France's, and I am missing a few. [Ramsey??]

brian, i think you named everyone from canada. and as brian said, the bench racing was sufficient. 2 southerners showed up (troy gladkowski and the ponds) a trailer from vermont, billy allen, rich runne, and steve noury all made the hike. the csh, csr, 20ssh, axsh, and asr looked like super strong fields with a number of national champions and near national champions signing up. so if only the wind would have been non-existent that race would have been top notch. oh well, theres always next year
